Fees

The practicalities….one of the most important factors in choosing a therapist is that felt sense of ‘a fit’. When you sit down in that space you feel that this is a person you can talk to, build trust with, share your thoughts, fears, self with. Whilst it is true that for many of us things such as trust come over time, yet that first session can provide you with enough information to know if it feels right. To this end I feel it is a good idea to have an introductory session in which we can both explore the possibility of working together, you can ask any questions you may need to be answered and I can get a sense of what it is you would like to achieve from our time together. To this end I offer a discounted fee for this session of £35, generally the session is slightly shorter than normal being that we are deciding if we are a good enough fit.

Once we have decided that the rapport is there, we can focus on what specifically you would like to work on and how will you know when that has been achieved. Whilst this idea may seem slightly linear and even idealistic it reflects the need for you, the client to maintain a sense of purpose and achievement. We will then agree on a time frame, say 5 sessions, meeting once a week for an hour and at the end of which we will assess our progress. Plenty can be achieved in short term therapy (5 sessions for example) however, when faced with entrenched, semi conscious patterns, developed and honed over many years and developmental stages it is understandable to assume that there are issues that require more time.

Fees…I charge £55 / session and £65 for couples, this can be paid by card, cash or online transfer, a receipt will be given. If we have scheduled sessions then any change or cancellation will need to be discussed in advance, ideally with a minimum of 48 hours notice, no shows will be charged at the full rate.

I intend to have one session a week for people who are financially struggling, a lower fee (I am also aware that even a reduced fee is too much for some…if I could find a solution to this social issue I would be very happy..) so, if you feel this applies to you then we can discuss it.
